Speed Up Your WordPress Website – Part 2


In this article i will cover some plugins and some server side configurations that will improve you WordPress Site Speed. [RegUserOnly]

1. Hosting Configuration Settings

Make sure you hosting settings are set like below

  • max_execution_time 180
  • memory_limit 256M
  • post_max_size 64M
  • max_input_time 60

Ask your hosting to give you info about this parameters and increase them if it possible with your hosting plan.

2. Use Wp Super Cache plugin 

Wp super cache is one of the best caching plugin for WordPress, you can read how to us it here.

3. Clean Page/post Revisions

If you will regularly clean WP revisions your database will perform much faster then before, there are lot of plugins to clean revisions, one of them is https://wordpress.org/plugins/delete-post-revisions-by-tricks-panda/ .

4. Disable Unused Plugins

Disable/deactivate all unused plugins, they are using your php_memory limit on your hosting and it will affect on performance.

5. Optimise Css & Js

Plugins related to this part Allows you to combine and minify your CSS and JS files to improve page load time. One of them is Better WordPress Minify plugin. You need to make some testing with this plugin because with some other active plugins it might have some issues.

6. Gzip compression

It’s Recommended to check if Gzip compression is enabled on your server/hosting, if you are not sure how to do that, ask hosting provider to help you with this.
